Seniors & Veterans

Seniors and veterans have access to specialized housing programs designed to make housing more affordable and accessible. These programs include subsidized housing developments, rental assistance, property tax relief, home adaptation grants, and supportive housing options specifically for older adults and those who have served in the military.

Randolph Veterans Services (https://www.randolph-ma.gov/501/Veterans-Services or Call: 781-961-0930) provides assistance with veterans benefits, emergency financial aid and access to local resources. 

Randolph Housing Authority (RHA) (http://www.randolphha.com/Home.aspx or call: 781-961-1400) administers 236 state one-bedroom units of elderly (60 and over) and disabled housing and participates in the Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program. The properties managed by the RHA are located on Elderly Drive, Sunshine Drive and Decelle Drive. 

Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) (https://www.va.gov/homeless/hud-vash.asp or call: 800-698-2411) combines the HUD housing vouchers with Department of Veteran Affairs case management and supportive services for homeless veterans and their families. 

Massachusetts Rental Voucher Program (https://www.mass.gov/how-to/apply-for-the-massachusetts-rental-voucher-program-mrvp or call: 617-573-1250) provides rental assistance to seniors, people with disabilities and low-income families. 

New England Center and Home for Veterans (https://nechv.org/get-help/permanent-housing/ or call: 617-371-1800) makes permanent and supportive housing services available to veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, regardless of their length of service or discharged status.

Veteran Affairs Specially Adapted Housing Grant (SAH) (https://www.va.gov/housing-assistance/disability-housing-grants/ or call: 800-698-2411) provides funding for veterans with certain service-connected disabilities to purchase or modify a home to meet their needs and live more independently. 

Greater Boston Legal Services (https://www.gbls.org/ or call: 800-323-3205) provides free legal assistance to seniors on issues such as eviction and subsidized housing. 

Senior Circuit Breaker Tax Credit (https://www.mass.gov/info-details/massachusetts-senior-circuit-breaker-tax-credit#overview or call: 800-392-6089) permits eligible seniors who own or rent residential property in Massachusetts to apply for annual tax credits up to $2,820. 

Randolph Elder Affairs (https://randolph-ma.gov/307/Elder-Affairs) creates a welcoming community for seniors and veterans through programming, services and resources that promote independence, dignity and well-being.    

Randolph Assessors Office (https://www.randolph-ma.gov/159/Assessors-Office) provides property tax exemptions and abatements for eligble seniors and veterans.
