Gary Auerbach, 1995 world freestyle Frisbee championship, will put on a free dynamic and interactive show at the Randolph Intergenerational Community Center during school vacation week.
Senior Citizen Senior Prom
Second annual Senior Citizen Senior Prom - a free event for people 55 and older with music by a live band, dinner and loads of fun at Stetson Hall.
SENSEation Days
Fuller Craft Museum in Brockton hosts SENSEation Days - guided tours of exhibitions led by trained educators, up-close artist demonstrations, and hands-on craft activities in the Museum's studios.
Drama Club Public Address (PA) System
Equipment to support theatrical and musical productions at Randolph Community Middle School. The technology will also be used to teach sound engineering as it relates to performance acoustics.
Boston Symphony Orchestra Field Trip
Students grades 6 to 8 will attend the Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO), where conductor Thomas Wilkins "leads each performance from the stage, guiding the audience through the concert experience and delivering positive character development messages in conjunction with the concert program." The program is "Learning by Heart" - A Journey of Exploration and Engagement (Lesson: Following Your Heart Requires the Brain as Well) and includes music from Berlioz, Chabrier, Prokofiev, Bizet, Adams, Still, and Dvorak.
Blue Flame Show Choir Uniforms
Blue Flame Show Choir performs and competes throughout Massachusetts. Uniforms help to unify the group visually for performances and competitions while also helping to create a sense of community within the group. This acquisition ensures that any student that would like to be part of Show Choir can participate. Uniforms will be used for Blue Flame members for years to come.
Randolph High School Drama Club Musical Production
For the first time in at least 11 years, the Randolph High School Drama Club will produce a spring musical "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown". Performances will take place at Randolph High School and the entourage will travel to the elementary schools to perform select pieces. Funds will pay for royalties, accompaniment, sets and costuming.
Randolph High School Percussion Program
Randolph Percussion performs as part of the high school marching band, concert band, jazz band, indoor winter percussion (competing) and percussion classes. Funding sponsors the acquisition of 4 snares and 2 tenors that are used, 1 brand new tenor, 5 brand new bass drums, and 6 used harnesses.
We Are Randolph: Our Diverse Stories Illuminated with Theater
True Story Theater (TST) will offer two public storytelling theatre performances and one introductory theater workshop on the theme: "We Are Randolph: Stories of Belonging to our Diverse Community." TST offers a unique form of community engagement by artistically dramatizing audience members' true stories. Our work fosters empathy, creativity, community and respect.
Out of Many - One Randolph
In this program, local youth will interview local seniors/veterans of different cultural backgrounds and create digital media to tell their stories. will bring together generations and cultures that typically have minimal interactions and provide an avenue for the sharing of experiences. This project gives seniors and veterans an opportunity to share their stories and cultures while providing youth an opportunity to develop a variety of important life skills. Life skills include in-demand 21st-century skills, such as computer literacy, audio recording and graphic design, in addition to essential interpersonal skills such as one-on-one communication and interviewing.
Bold & Beautiful
Continuation of the Teen Arts Show from 2017 with additional outreach and coordination of student art for a group art show at Gallery 33 in Brockton for Spring 2018. It will consist of art by High School students from Randolph, Brockton and Bridgewater and the development of a scholarship.
